How to update Tik-Tok?

TikTok is one of the most trending apps in the social media environment. With an estimated 1.20 billion users globally and 500 million active monthly users, TikTok's tremendous growth is just getting crazier.

The app has a wide range of options for video creators. These include music, song snippets to lip-sync, attractive filters and special effects. Users across the globe create tons of videos every day, and these videos are shared on other social media platforms such Instagram, Facebook and Whatsapp.

TikTok constantly finds new and innovative ways to engage its users, and they try to bring in new features now and then. If you are a TikTok user, you know how important it is to understand how to update TikTok. It is not just about new features, but the privacy policy gets updated often.

How to update TikTok?

Updating the app differs both in Android and iPhone, and both require you to visit their respective app store. If you have enabled auto-update in any of your devices, then TikTok will be updated automatically whenever a new update is released. If not, then follow these steps.


Firstly let us start with iPhone-


Step 1: Open phone

Grab your iPhone and look for any notifications for recent updates.


Step 2: App Store

If there are no new notifications, search for the app store among your apps list, and tap to open it.


Step 3: Search

Once you have opened the app store, search for "TikTok." Tap the app icon to open it.


Step 4: Update

After opening TikTok in the app store, you will find an "update" button next to the app icon. Tap to download and install the update.

If the "update" button is not visible, it means that no new updates are available.


The steps to update the app on Android are -


Step 1: Open Google Play store

Grab your device and search for Google Play store among the list of your apps. Tap to open it.


Step 2: Search

Once you have opened Play store, search for "TikTok".


Step 3: TikTok

Once you have searched for TikTok, a list of apps will be shown. Tap on TikTok.


Step 4: Update

If any new updates are available, a button named "Update" will be visible next to "Uninstall." Tap to update the app.

The "update" button won't appear if no new updates are available.
